Priyamani Learn Acting from Balakrishna

Paruthiveeran(2007)a benchmark tamil film is directed by Ameer Sultan. Karthik Sivakumar, son of Sivakumar gets the lead role in the film, pairing with Priyamani. The story is set in a rural area around Madurai. The village is called Parithiyur where Paruthiveeran lives with his doting uncle — father’s brother, (Saravanan). The name paruthiveeran means "cotton hero", probably derived from the fact that the village where he lives (and the movie is set) is called Paruthi, and he is a hero of the Paruthi village. It is basicaly hate-love story between the the hero and heroine. At the end the couples elopes resisting the village folks to marry of heroine to another boy.

Priyamani, along with National Award, recently won the Filmfare South Award and the Osian Cinefan Award for her work in the Tamil film Paruthiveeran, making it a triple celebration.

Priyamani is the 5th tamil actress to win this prestigious National Award winner for best actress from the Tamil film Industry.
